.: Numero Cuatrocientos :.

Which translate to No. 400.

Yes. This is my 400th post in this blog.

And that's about all I wanted to say.

Tata :)

Kathlynn's Diary has been brought to you today by the number 400.

.: Excess Baggages :.

Just wanna freakin leave it all behind and move afresh!

.: Biodata :.

Oh. Did I mention that for my ICAEW Graduation they require us to write a biodata 'bout ourselves to be published in a booklet which they will hand-out to all the guests?

I absolutely dunno what to write!

I have a perpetual writer's block. I have verbal constipation. Words don't come easy to me. How can I find a way to make you see, I love you.....
Ok, I'm wavering. If you didn't already know, its a lyrics of a song.

Anyways, back to the point. What was the point again? Oh ya, back to the point of writing a biodata of myself of "what do you want people to think of you professionally".

So yeah, I can't say I things like I like watching Grey's Anatomy. Or I have collections of Winnie the Poohs. Or stuff like that. It's gotta be the serious stuff.

People! Please, please, please HELP ME!

.: LBD :.

I have my ICAEW Graduation function to attend this 28th May.

I am planning on wearing this LBD I bought from M&S during their moving out sales in One-U (from the Old Wing to New Wing) - which was like aeons ago. It set me back by a hundred bucks. Was kinda reluctant to make the purchase at first, but when I peeled the tag to have a peak at the original price and it revealed RM399, I knew I was getting a bargain.

So now, the only thing I need are some accessories.

And oh ya, to go on a really, really (and by really I mean really) strict diet, so that I can actually fit into it *keep fingers cross* :)

Yeah, shall start my diet "tomorrow"! :)

.: My Life Would Suck Without You :.

Song Words by Artist / Band : Kelly Clarkson
Lyrics Title : My Life Would Suck Without You
Available on Album : All I Ever Wanted
Released : January 13, 2009
Music Genre : Pop Rock

Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again

Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Either way I found out I’m nothing without you

Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life would suck without you

Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah

Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life would suck without you

Cause we belong together now (together now) yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

.: Picnic Basket :.

Now for the long weekends, JC and I have decide to take a trip down to Ulu Yam waterfalls again. So I am just looking for some good ol' picnic recipes instead of the standard egg or tuna sandwiches.

A nice potato salad sounds good. And a nice chicken garden salad with vinaigrette dressing would complement nicely. Mmmm.....

.: On9 Shopping :.

I have been doing alot of shopping of late. Online shopping to be more precise.

So I do have female hormones afterall Tammie! ---> click here to recap the conversation I had with my cousin sister a couple of years ago.

Well, the one thing I love 'bout online shopping aside from the fact that it's cheaper than the retail shops that you normally go, is that, with just a click of the mouse, I could compare prices between blogshops and get the best bargains around. Sites like Fashion Truth is every girl's best friend for online shopping, a site that allows buyers and sellers to voice out complaints, as well as providing "alternative" (i.e. same item from different blogshop at different prices). From here, they buyer could gauge which blogshop is selling at a reasonable price, which blogshop provides the better customer service, etc

So, since I have discovered the joys of online shopping, I have puchased :

1 LBD = RM 35
1 red cardi = RM 23
2 top/mini dress = RM 35 + RM 31
1 pink babydoll top = RM 25
1 giraffe necklace = RM 15
2 clinchers = RM 30
1 leggings & 1 stockings = RM 43
1 gladiators wedges = RM 45
1 freebra = RM 18

Oh.My.Gosh! That's a total of RM 300! So that was where all my money went to, without me realising it. Sneaky, sneaky......

On a more serious note, I seriously wanna consider setting up a blogshop. JC said he would support me financially! :)

.: Heart Opener :.

Week 3 at Soup Kitchen.

If Week 1 was an eye opener, Week 3 was a real heart opener.

Well, after serving and collecting the empty cups and containers, the 200 people crowd would usually disperse immediately. However, there are a few who would stay behind, sit, mingle, chat and laugh among themselves. We (Aunty Nancy, JC and I) approched this gentleman, and ask if his leg was ok. Two weeks ago, we saw him with a cast on his leg and he was walking with crutches. After a couple of minutes talking and introducing each other - his name is Nathan (pronounced as Ney-tun not Na-dun - I think its really cute!). His spoken English was very good, and the fact that he could speak Cantonese surprises me even more.

He told us about his background. He started of working as an engineer in a machinery company almost 20 years ago in Ipoh (his hometown). And on a fateful day in 1991, he met with a hit and run accident while he was riding a motorbike at night.

He was in coma for about 3 months. About 3 weeks after he awaken from his coma, his father passed away. And six months later, his mother passed away. He was so sad of the misfortunes that has happened to him that he went into depression, and was admitted to Tanjung Rambutan a couple of times. His siblings and other family members shy away from him because of his predicament, which made him even more depressed. He decided to go to KL to run away from all this.

In KL, he came to know and accepted Christ via from the street mission. To earn a living, he has been doing odd jobs here and there. Till now, he still doesn't have a roof over his head, but he was nonetheless thankful for his life so far. He was on medications for his depression, but has long since stopped as he placed his trust in Christ.

His testimony was really a heart opener to the three of us sitting there.

Look at this man. He was at his peak of his life when the series of unfortunate incident happened to him, causing his whole future ahead of him to crumble overnight. He lost his job. Lost both his parents within a short period of time. His other family members shun him instead of giving him the support he so very much needed. He has no one to turn to.... but yet, God is merciful. He has found peace and solitude in the Lord, and he has done very well to bring himself out of the situation he was in.

He said that he has forgive what his family members has done to him in his time of need. But he hasn't returned to Ipoh since he came down to KL.

It was a real edifying testimony from Nathan.

Will make the extra effort to uphold Nathan in prayers.

.: Sometimes It Is Wise To Be Stupid :.

Was feeling abit (ok fine, abit is kind of an understatement - let's just say "quite") down today.

Talk to Angelia on MSN bout how I felt.

"...they say smart people very difficult to find happiness..." she said.

Well, I guess it's a consolation that during my moments of unhappiness, I am just being smart! :)

Honestly, I am just a simple girl trying to lead a simple life. I mean, is it really that complicated to simplify my life?

.: Spider Pig, Spider Pig :.

Guess who's coming to town!

No not Britney Spears!

No no, not Rusells Peter, tho I would love to see him if he does…

Come on, guess again…

No silly, Saddam Hussein is already dead (or so I was told..hmmm..possible conspiracy?)

No no no, not the circus...

Oh come on! Why would I be excited over a purple dinosaur coming to town?

Ok fine! Since you give up already let me reveal to you ….

Mr. Krispy Kreme

Ok fine, so you may or may not have known this a long time ago.

But I only realise this yesterday, riding on the monorail on the way to work. Yeah, I take the public transport - that's coz I'm going green (of the green paper in my wallet that is! *wink*). And as I was passing by Berjaya Time Square Mall, I saw this - "Krispy Kreme Opening Soon".

Now, I am not such a big fan of doughnuts and didn't really got sucked into the doughnut craze when Big Apple & J Co was first launched.

But…..when I went to Sydney, I told myself that I must try Krispy Kreme, coz they don't have it in Malaysia, which I did (cost a grenade after conversion - to say a bomb would be totally exaggerating).

And now I am gonna lose that "exclusivity".

Sigh! Oh well! :)

Note :
Note the post subject. See the link?
Spider pig = Homer Simpsons = doughnuts?
Geddit, geddit? No? Nevermind, didn't think you were very smart when you guess Barney earlier anyways! :)

.: So Long, Farewell :.

Had a simple farewell lunch with my ex-boss this afternoon. I was suppose to buy him lunch, but he paid for it instead >.<

Said it was for passing of my exams (which was almost half a year ago ~ way long overdue David! *wink*)

Anyways, its really such a sad thing that such a nice boss is leaving. He was not only my boss and ICAEW mentor, but also have encouraged me in terms of my spiritual growth. Such a blessing to work with someone such an inspiring, wonderful person.

He was telling me of the a story at his workplace and joked that his story was like how this character, Ben Campbell (I wiki-ed it coz I never watch this movie before) in the movie titled "21" has his story to stand out from all the other well qualified applicant into Harvard Medical School. We laughed and laughed about it!

I wish I has my story too! :)

Anyways, wishing David all the best and success in his future endeavors and that he may bring more blessings to his new workplace as he did here!

.: It's In My Nature :.

There once lived a scorpion and a frog.

The scorpion wanted to cross the pond, but, being a scorpion, he couldn't swim.

So he scuttled up to the frog and asked: "Please, Mr Frog, can you carry me across the pond on your back?"

"I would, replied the frog, but under the circumstances, I must refuse.

You might sting me as I swim across," said the frog.

"But why would I do that? Asked the scorpion. It is not in my interest to sting you, because you will die and then I will drown," said the scorpion.

Although the frog knew how lethal scorpions were, the logic proved quite persuasive. Perhaps, felt the frog, in this one instance the scorpion would keep his tail in check. So the frog agreed.

The scorpion climbed onto his back, and together they set off across the pond.

Just as they reached the middle of the pond, the scorpion twitched his tail and stung the frog. Mortally wounded, the frog cried out: "Why did you sting me?

It is not in your best interests to sting me, because now I will die and you will drown," said the frog.

"I know, replied the scorpion as he sank into the pond. But I am a scorpion. I have to sting you. It's my nature," he said.

.: He's Just Not That Into You :.

Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, Every story we're told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is... just... moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope!

.: Snatch Thieves :.

Snatch thieves incidents are really so rampant these days.

I too, was a victim of snatch thieves, twice. Once when I was walking on the way back from BM tuition. Nothing was missing except for my precious Mrs. Lim hand written biology notes (we start to write whatever came out of Mrs. Lim mouth - whether it made any sense or not, as fast as we could and as much as we could) which, for those who took bio with me knows, was our bible to the subject. Took me about 2 mths to reconstruct these notes. The second time was my 1st day of college at the bus stop opposite my house. Nothing was missing except for a few dollars in my wallet, a photocopy of my IC (thanks to some divine intervention that that morning itself, I just took out my actual IC and brought along my photocopied IC), and an absolutely ancient hp (which was handed down from my dad). Thank God that in all these incidents, I was not harmed in any way (except being a lil traumatised over the drumming of motorbikes whenever I am walking).

Yesterday, while on the way to the library after lunch at Seksyen 17, we witness an attempted snatch thief incident.

Just in front of us, was two motorbikes. The first motorbike was nearing the second motorbike, and the passenger from the first motorbike waved his hands our and started to tap the shoulder of the passenger in the second motorbike. My first thought was that these two motorbikers was trying to greet each other. Seconds later, the second motorbike started to swerve to the left, and then fall and landed on the grass area in front of a house. JC stopped his car and we saw an elderly Indian couple down on the ground. I came out of the car and helped the motorbike up (as it the biker and his wife was flatten by it). I asked if the lady was ok, as her hands and legs was bleeding. I took out some tissue and gave them to her as she wiped of the blood from her hand.

Meantime, I asked JC to lock his car, coz his car engine was still running and it was dangerous to leave it so. Do not want to deal with a car hijacking incident.

I held the aunty so she could sit on the bench outside the house. JC checked on the uncle, but he seems unhurt. He started hugging his wife and spoke to comfort her in Tamil. The wife, in pain, explained to us that they were on the way back from church. The motorbikers was trying to snatch her handbag and either she pushed them or they pushed her, it caused their motorbike to went out of control. Two passerby motorbikes stop by (both Indians) and started to speak in Tamil. They thought that we knocked her down and in a harsh tone, demanded that we should send her to the hospital. The lady explained the whole situation to them, and later on , in a nicer tone, they request that we send them back (which we have already volunteered to anyway before they came).

Anyways, we send her back to her place in Pelangi Damansara in our car, while the uncle rode his motorbike. While in the car, the lady told us that this is the first time in her life that such an incident happened to her. We told her that she was lucky and advise her to be more careful next time, especially not to carry her handbag on her shoulder while riding the motorbike. She explained that it wasn’t her custom to do so, as she will usually put it in the front basket, but so happened that she went to the market after church and there was some grocery in the front basket already.

When we drop her off at a clinic outside her house, she and her husband was extremely grateful to us. Kept on saying "God bless you sister" & "God bless you brother". It's nice that we were able to help this couple, even tho in the smallest of ways.

Just a reminder for all to be a lil extra careful, especially the ladies.

.: Childlike v Childish :.

There is a big difference between being childlike and childish.

Just because I love Winnie the Pooh.

Just because I skip under the rain or dance under the moonlights.

Just because I still play tangloongs.

Just because I hum nursery rhymes or sing cartoon theme songs.

Just because I laugh out loud when I am happy.

Just because I cry when I am sad or scared.

Just because I bring Martin bear along with me when I am away from home.

Just because of all these, doesn't make me childish.

.: Somewhere Only We Know :.

Somewhere Only We Know

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me?
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
So why don't we go

This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know

.: Gimme Some Sugar :.

I wanna get a sugar glider as a pet.

A bit impulsive for the time being, so I'm gonna give a few more days of thought.

Reason is that I just need some physical interaction.

Been feeling really lonely of late, and TV or books are no replacement of having some warmth from something warm and fuzzy.

But really having second thoughts, coz of my busy schedule, I do not know if I can spend enough time and care to this tiny, affectionate creature.

Sigh. It will be TV and books for now.

.: The Missing Pieces! :.

It's so frustrating that I have an envelope of white jigsaw pieces misplaced!

I got a 1,050 piece jigsaw puzzle to complete. And I would say that it's almost 40% complete. And yesterday, I had insomnia, so decided to continue piece the pieces of my puzzle. It was about 3am, when I realise that I the envelope containing the white pieces (not one piece, but at least 30 pieces) completely missing. I searched high and low - but its just nowhere to be found. Only slept at 4am-ish yesterday!

So extremely frustrating! I just don't know what to do with it now!

And I thought that of all the stupid bits and pieces of my life that I need to fix, piecing this puzzle would be simple and un-complicated.

So blardy annoying!

.: What A Great God He Is! :.

Last week has been a hectic week for me. As well as a truly blessed one.

Our church had a small gathering during Maundy Thursday, in commemoration of the day that Jesus had his last supper before he was persecuted and crucified.

On Fri (Good Friday) another service was held at night to observe and remember the crucifixion of Christ who died so that we all may have eternal life.

On Sat, as part of the Mission committee of the church, we went to visit a place located somewhere in the back lanes of Chinatown, where meals of chicken curry and vege with rice are served to the poor and homeless every Saturday, 2pm (note : it is known as Soup Kitchen in the West, but since they do not serve soup, so I guess that this term is not that appropriate). It was really an eye opener for me as I have never seen so many homeless and poor people, consisting of men, women and even children of all ages and all races. Meals were prepared for about 200 people and we had a short time of worship before the meals are served. Again, this trip actually reminded me again, how blessed I am to have a roof over my head and warm food on the table.

Later at night, I went to Bukit Jalil stadium to watch an annual Easter presentation by the Calvary church entitled He Is Alive! The play was really good, and the respond from crowds during the alter call was really really encouraging.

On Sunday (Easter) our Sunday school had a good time as the children learn and understand more of the meaning of Easter. Lotsa food after that as well! :)

Indeed it has been a blessed week, as God has open my eyes and heart to so many things throughout these events. They are really personal experiences and I have cried so many times at all these events as they have really touched my heart. It's difficult for me to put down in words how my heart was touched, but it's an experience that I would like to remember, hence I'm journaling it down now! :)

Our Lord is indeed a great and mighty God! And He has really been soooo wonderful to me!

.: Easter :.

Easter is the most joyous of all Christian holidays.

It is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without Easter and the Resurrection there would be no Christianity.

The message of Easter is a message of celebration; a celebration of the ultimate triumph of hope and love.

In a weary world, battered by hate, war, greed, dwindling resources, starvation, hopelessness, violence and evil, the message of Easter shines like a lighthouse above a dark and treacherous shore

Open eyes and hearts and see and hear the true message of Easter. For the message of Easter brings the broader message of hope; of love conquering evil; and of life conquering death. The message of Easter is one of light victorious over darkness; of hope triumphing over hopelessness; of love conquering hate; and of faith reigning supreme over fear. It is the single most hopeful message to all mankind that ultimately right will prevail over wrong.

The message of Easter gives all of us a promise that life trumps death; good trumps evil; light trumps darkness; and that love trumps hate. Who among us wishes that death will ultimately prevail? Or that darkness will be victorious over light? Would any good person hope that hate will ultimately triumph over love?

This Easter, let all be reminded that the message of Easter and the Resurrection is a universal message of life, hope, light, love, and faith. A message that will touch every good human heart.

And let us all remember that without hope there can be no love; and without love we are nothing.

.: My Blonde Moment :.

Was out for dinner with SJian & Drew the other night. So boyz being boyz, they ware talking about girls like they are some object or something (and they are used to talking that way in front of me - well, coz basically, I'm like one of the boyz...) when SJian asked "So Drew, how's your WWF girl?"

First thing that came to my mind was a girl like Chyna. Don't know who is she? Click here for a pic.

And I was like "What Drew? WWF girl?!" and he was like "Yeah! I told you about her before remember?"

And it only came to me a couple of seconds later that it is the WWF (World Wide Fund) girl, not WWF (World Wrestling Federation).

Gosh. Silly me! :)
