.: What's Up Doc? :.

I'm feeling so hungry.

And I'm down with a bad cough and cold (no thanks to my boss David, who actually got it from his kids).
Need to see a Doctor today!

*cough*cough*sniff*sniff*

If only McDreamy's my Doctor...

.: Geanology :.

A little girl asked her mother, 'How did the human race appear?'

The mother answered, 'God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so all mankind was made.'

Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.

The father answered, 'Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.'

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, 'Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?'

The mother answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple...

I told you about 'my' side of the family and your father told you about 'his'.

.: Random Tag :.

You've been tagged. Yes YOU...... YOU..... and YOU too!

I just felt like doing a random tag, so here it goes.....

1>How many months are there until your birthday?
From May to December - that would be 7 months.....

2>Have you gotten gum stuck on your hair?
Thank goodness NO!

3>When was the last time you got straight A's?
SPM...

4>Where is your brother right now?
He's watching some cyborg-alien-bloody-war DVD (which I have absolutely no idea what's the movie's title, nor do I intend to find out)

5>Is your handwriting large, tiny or normal?
I don't know what is 'normal' anymore...
My handwriting really depends very much on my mood....

6>Are you currently listening to a song?
Nope, listening to stupid cyborg sounds from the movi my bro is watching...

7>Do you have a cellphone?
Yes, two in fact *wink*

8>Do you own any kind of yellow clothing?
*Thinks hard* Nope, I don't think so - I'm not really a "colour person", most of the clothing in my cupboard is either black or blue....

9>What do you hate about the opposite sex?
The fact that they say "I'm not like the other men. I'm... *insert positive attributes of themselved* ..."
The fact that they all say something like that make them like any other men.
But to be fair, I don't hate men (please don't get me wrong here!). In fact, most of my closest friends are guys!

10>How many piercings do you have?
Two on my bottom ear lobe (I got that when I was 7 or 8) and one on my top right ear lobe (Got that when I was 18 - as a mark of my rebelliousness at that age)

11>What time is it?
It's 2306 hours

12>What color are your eyes?
Dark brown?

13>How are you today?
Erm, still alive? Neither here nor there, been feeling that for quite some time actually.

14>How long does it take you to take a shower?
Shower can be as fast as 15 minutes. A nice bath would take me at least 30 minutes :)

15>Do you wear your seatbelt in the car?
While I'm at the driver's seat or front passenger seat - yes! * I wish they would never implement the buckle up policy for back passengers as well. Coz I hate seatbelts as they can be so "constraining".... Only reason why I put them on is bcoz it's an expensive fine to pay if I get caught!

16>What jewelry do you wear all the time?
An earing on the top right piercing mentioned in 10>

17>What would you say if your doc told you were pregnant?
I'll just ROFL! Hehe! :)

18>Do you believe in aliens?
I've meet a couple before. I mean they look like human and all, but they are like just not from here (if you know what I mean). Not surprisingly, most of them are men! Hehe!

19>Any siblings?
One younger brother. (Darn, I've to admit that I'm actually related to Ben)

20>What are you doing tomorrow?
Work - gosh, I feel a Monday blues coming....

21>Who are you meeting tomorrow?
Same ol same ol...

22>What color are your socks?
Don't wear socks....

23>How long is your hair?
Shoulder lenght

24>What school do you go to?
I'm no longer in school. I went to SMDJ.. DJ rox!

25>What are you allergic to?
Dust....

26>Can others make you cry easily?
Yes. I'm a fragile emo being :(

27>Whose house did you last go to?
My very own home

28>Where did you get the shirt you are wearing?
It's so long ago I really can't remember

29>Who dresses up the best among your friends?
Everyone! Hehe - politically correct statement...

.: Here In My Heart : Malaysian Artistes For Unity :.

A song that reminds me that there is indeed no place like home sweet home, here in my heart!~

HERE IN MY HOME

Hold on brother hold on
The road is long. We’re on stony ground
But I’m strong. You ain’t heavy
Oh there’s a misspoken truth that lies
Colors don’t bind, oh no.
What do they know? They speak falsely.

Chorus:
Here in my home
I’ll tell you what its all about
There’s just one hope here in my heart
One Love undivided
That’s what it’s all about
Please won’t you fall in one by one by one [with me]?

Push back sister won’t you push back?
Love won’t wait. Just keep pushing on.
Yes I’m strong. You ain’t heavy.
Oh don’t you worry about that…
What we have the shadows can’t deny
Don’t you know it’s now or never?

Rap:

[Malay: TRANSLATED]
Years of fears and years of tribulation
The heart keeps searching for that endless devotion

[Chinese: TRANSLATED]
Hand in hand we’ll march like blood brothers
I speak for my people hope we’ll find peace forever

[Tamil: TRANSLATED]
May the road ahead quench my thirst for success
May the road behind echo a song of the blessed

[English]
So I will let it be known yes I feel it in my bones
No matter where I roam this is home sweet home

Sing!

.: Aloha 'Oe, Till We Meet Again Qian :.

Organizing Qianhui's farewell....
I'm reallly really going to miss her....

As I type this, I can't help but sense that a part of my limb will be missing for the next 5 months as she goes to USA to have her fun working and traveling at the same time.

Yes, although I know for a fact that it's only 5 months and she will be back, I can't help but worry that the bond and friendship between us will never be the same again.

As you mature forward in life, you realise so much more that friendship is something so fragile and delicate. Like a flower, it takes so much to nurture - you need just the right amount of sunlight, the right amount of water, the right amount of fertilizer, etc, etc...

Gone were the days where true friends come into your life like a spring in the mountains. Now, it's like scarce water in the Sahara. I can count with my two hands the friends I have made since I left secondary school. And when I say true friends, it's those who knows me inside out, shared my joy, held my hands thru my sad times at the wee hours of the morning, etc....

JC once told me that people are in your life only for a season, and once they have served their purpose, they leave - it's either one or both have move on, or that we have drifted apart or even death.

I really do hope that this is not the end of our season Qian....

Now, a simple promise like Friends Forever means so much.....

Anyways, wishing you bon voyage and have a great time there okies?!~

Lotsa hugz & kisses xoxo

.: Lesson In Life :.

My late grandpa once pointed out to me, over dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Damansara Kim....

"Look at him...." while nodding his head toward the direction of an elderly man (probably about 50), loading gas barrels onto his lorry.

"He's hard at work, but he's enjoying it.... Hear him whistling loudly and merrily....He's really enjoying his life..."

Then, he lightly shocked his head and smile.

I didn't really understand it at that moment, but few years down the road, I realised what my Grandpa was trying say.

My Grandpa is a man who had endured some much hardship even at a very young age. He knows what is it like to suffer, starve and hard work. And after enduring so much hardship, one of the life lesson you learn from that is to be thankful for the lil things that you've been blessed. My Grandpa was not a tycoon, and do not have a great success story like the founder of Genting, Lim Gohtong, has to tell. But he is equally, if not as much, blessed in every other ways.

He was always very thankful for these blessings. Instead of a mansion, he lived in a small house by the Malacca beach. Instead of a Merz, he drove a second had old Ford car. But he is thankful for that small lil house. And the old Ford car. And the children and grandchildren that he was blessed with. He never complained that he wanted more.

So now when I hear people at work whistling with the same magnitude of enthusiasm and cheerfulness of life, I thank God for having my Grandpa taught me this very simple but valuable lesson.

.: Stye Gets In Your Eye :.

The infection in my eye is known as a stye.
I have no idea what a stye is, but I know it hurts and it makes you eyes swell.
It's much better today than it was yesterday when I couldn't even open my right eye.

Just have to refrain myself from rubbing my eyes!

.: I Do/Don't Care :.

Place : Home, recovering from a bad eye infection
Mode : Really, really emotional
Currently listening to : The lil voice inside my head telling me to get a grip!

It’s really difficult for me to let go of things I truly care about.

It’s difficult to tell my mind to just forget about it, pretending it doesn’t matter; when my heart’s just aching to say “I do care!”

I don’t like it when I go into all “emo-mode”, like I’m now, coz I hate being reminded that I’m a very sensitive person by nature. And no matter how hard I try being cold, no matter how hard I try being heartless, I end up crouching underneath my blanket at night, crying myself to sleep. I understand that sometimes, it’s good that we do not take things too personally. But this is me; the whole package – take it all, or leave it all.

I do not like being told “I like it that you’re nice and really do care for people selflessly” but on the other hand, being told by the same person “You shouldn’t take things people say/do too personally”.

Sometimes I wish that I can be more selfish, and think of myself, rather than go through all the trouble for someone in need, and in return, being hurt by that same person.

I wish I can be a cold, heartless, selfish b***h, rather than being a band-aid that everyone seems to taking advantage of!

Updates:

I'm being reminded from a conversation I had with God that this is not what God wants of me.

.: All Work & All Play :.

A very quick update on my hectic, all-so-complicated-in-search-of-a-simple-life life...

Work
My group of companies are in the process of undergoing two restructuring. With another two projects in progress that I'm responsible for, on top of the monthly reports I've to churn out, plus a Group committee which I'm in charge of co-ordinating and planning, I think I will be having my hands full for the next few months to come.

Play
Been watching a few movies of late. Fool's Gold (Matthew McConaughey & Kate Hudson) in Cineleisure. Definately, Maybe (Ryan Renolds, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Banks, Rachel Weisz, Isla Fisher) in Berjaya Times Square. Cidade de Deus (City of God) at Kor's place. Planning to have a go at COD4 tonight (at T-Bun), it's been a long time since I last played!

Friends
Woke up early this morning (7am is early for my standards) to have a morning walk in Kiara Park with Fei and Xiao. Xiao is going off to some far,far away island in Johor tomorrow for two months. The last time we met up was actually during Christmas week (that was way, way, way long ago). Later, I'm going to meet up with Jes, Seat Jian, Sue May & Drew to have Jes' birthday lunch.

Family
Celebrated my Daddy's 54th birthday with a Chocolate Banana Cake (from Bread History) and dinner at a Japanese restaurant - Omitsu Koshi (Damansara Uptown). Rachel Tan (my baby Chel Chel) turned 6 last week. She's growing up way to fast! :( My brother is flying off to UK on the 10th of June for a year plus. Going to miss him alot, really!

Well, that's pretty much it. And I know my Beijing post has not been up yet, coz I really can't seem to find the time to even sit down and view all my Beijing pics yet. Will try to get it up before I fly off for my Aussie trip in June :)
