.: MadWorld :.

We live in a world of the unexpected–a mad world which seems to make little sense. In a world where tragedies beyond our imagination happen daily at preposterous proportions, how is it possible for us to live as if there were no tomorrow?

How peculiar that we care only about our own existence, when others around us could be drowning.

Have we forgotten the value of human lives?

Who are we and what is our worth?

What gives a man his value – his riches or his power over other men?

What about those whose lives are shattered by suffering—has God been unkind to them?

Don’t they matter?

What is the value of a human life?

MadWorld takes us into the souls of two men – Adam and Lucas – both asking the same question:

“What is indeed the worth of our souls?”

.: And Then There Was One (Month) :.

31 more days!

*hyperventilates*

A few more hurdles off the way – posting out cards, a rehearsal, final touch on my bridesmaid dress, second round of spray on my wishing tree, finalise caterer & cupcakes, flowers for myself, bridesmaid & flower girl(s)….

Hope that’s about it?

*hyperventilates*

Anyhows, the weekend turns out good!

GDL cum house blessing went out well, despite the rain!
Cooking class with Chef Khai AtCulinary19 Studio was fun!

Will blog bout it (with pics) as soon as I can find the time too.

In the meantime, do uphold us in prayer as we thread together all the finer and final details of the wedding preparation.

Oh, and also to uphold JC’s Australia PR application. Will most likely be processed in about 4 – 6 months, and when approved, we have to stay there for 2 continuous years for the next 5 years post approval.

Sometimes I wonder if the stress of the renovation is worthwhile? *sighs*

.: Home Blessing & GDL :.

Gonna have my GDL (Betrothal Day)  & simple house blessing this Saturday.
Pray that all goes well...

.: Random Conversation :.

Of the very rare occasion that me & JC randomly crap about, we had a short window of opportunity to do so last night

The conversation went (something) like this

Kath : Blah, blah, blah. Hence it should have been done this way. Trust me, I am always right? (said out jokingly, in case you have the perception that I am some obnoxious b****h)
JC : You can’t always be right.
Kath : Yes, I can. Coz I’m perfect.
JC : Nobody’s perfect.
Kath : But you told me once, that I was, and that I cannot improve on perfection. (read here)
JC : *palm face* But that is a statement made by an imperfect person (points to himself), hence it is not a perfectly correct statement
Kath : Then in that case, I am NOT perfect. Which means I would need more money to do my hair, my face, my nails, yada, yada, yada
JC: Aiks!

.: The Social Network :.

Went & watch this with Tammie last night.

It was quite the movie that either you will love it or hate it, no in between.
I actually kinda enjoyed it.
Just straight facts, extremely fast conversations, with very lil humour (if at all any).

Ever wonder bout the people behind Facebook?
Watch this movie (with a pinch of salt - coz you can never tell what is the truth & what is fiction).

Never look at Facebook the same again!

Love this scene the most, where Mark (founder of FB if you have not already known) talks to his gf!
Fast, fast, fassstt....

.: Tolarating You :.

I am a highly-opiniated no-nonsense kind of person. Most of the time, I have high level of tolarance, but once you breech that limit, you're a gonner. Don't mess around with me that way!

.: My Ohanas :.

There is no way I am gonna trade my ohanas for anything in the world.
They are irreplacable! I heart them! :)

.: Case of the Stolen Keys to Tron: Legacy by TGV :.

It happened to all of us before, I am sure.

When you are on your way out to an important interview for a proper job which only means that you no longer have to live on bread and water everyday.Which also means that this is probably your only chance to finally buy a house, instead of telling girls you wanna impress that you are still living with your mom (and you’re already 30 years old).

Or when you woke up late for your best friends wedding and you’re the maid of honor and you only have 25 minutes to F1 to the church.

Or when your coming back from work after being stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam and you have a bladder-full like a timebomb waiting to explode.

And you quickly try to search for the keys to go out/in…

only to find out that it is….

….MISSING.

Well, its usually misplaced somewhere under a rug or between your sofa sets or perhaps its just somewhere inside your handbag (which contains all the rubbish you have accumulated for the week – be it receipts, empty tissue paper holders, bits and bobs of papers here and there of god-knows-what)

But nothing is worse that to find out that your key is….

….STOLEN.

If you know how it feels to have your keys misplaced or even stolen, imagine the frustration you feel if you’re the projectionist and the ONLY set of keys to the safe containing Tron: Legacy has been stolen!

Which means the whole Malaysia would not get to see this show unless someone helps find it – and find it fast!

Now, TGV Cinemas and partners are giving out A Private Screening Hall for any movie + a Panasonic 50” 3DTV and many other attractive prizes to the ones who reward those who manage to solve the case.
All one got to do to help is to link to TGV Cinemas’ Facebook page – www.facebook.com/TGVCinemas

Or, if your Gil Grissom skills are as rusty as mine, you can blog about this and win yourselves invites to the premier, IF and only IF the keys can be found that is.

.: 7 Days Challange : #1 :.

I wonder why the moon follows us around at night.

When I was younger and still suckling milk from the Avent milk bottle, I usta ask my dad "Daddy, why is the moon following us?"

You see, I lying down at the backseat of the car and regardless of whether we turn left or right, the moon seemed like it was following us.

It was amusing, but at the same time abit scary coz I thought that the moon is some special eyeball lookin down on us.

I can't remember what my dad replied, but I am sure the answer wasn't scientific enough nor did it made any sense or else I would have dropped it rather than wonder for a couple of months thereforth.

Either that or he might have answered "Go ask your mom!"

Who knows?

.: Tougue Tied :.

Realised I haven't even started on my speeches yet.

For someone who is gets nervous & tongue tied on stage, this is no good news!

Su - my England teacher will help me out between morning sickness, right? Oh preettttyy pweeasse!

.: Insomia :.

Just don't understand why the last 30 or so pieces of a 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzle is the most difficult to complete.

Taking a break from it as I compile the background songs I wanna play for my wedding reception/dinner.

Honestly, I am so tired, but I just couldn't sleep. Perhaps a combination of stress and the recent outburst with the parental over the stupid guest list. As the clock ticks nearer to the new year, my heart is palpitating a lil harder.

There's alot that has been on my mind of late, especially after hearing news that a close friend of mine has gone for an operation recently to remove a cyst from her ovaries. The thought of life & death suddenly flashes thru my mind (tho her case is not fatal, its just that I always associate operation with death, pardon my stupid conclusion).

Anyways, went and visit her after work today and she seemed like her usual, klutzy, ditsy self - so all seems well.

I have a long day (as always) tomorrow.

Will be going to my USJ house in the morning and then to IKEA later in the evening to get some furniture to furnish my guest room & my studyroom.

And since we plan to have a simple house dedication cum GDL on the 27th this month, there isn't much time left. I still critically have my dining table and curtains outstanding, but aside from that, I can live with an empty guest room for time being.

As for Project Downhill, I seem to be in a panic attack state whenever I think of it. There's all the DIY things that have started halfway but haven't seen the end light of things. Then there are those that have yet to be decided still.

*panics*

But whenever I get extremely stressed, I console myself by telling myself it's only just a wedding. It is the marriage that is more important. It does help bring down the stress level one notch, well, it's better than nothing I suppose!

A'ites. Back to my puzzles buzzles....

Til then

xoxo

.: Just The Way You Are : Bruno Mars:.

Oh her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Yeah I know, I know
When I compliment her
She wont believe me
And its so, its so
Sad to think she don't see what I see

But every time she asks me do I look okay
I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

Her nails, her nails
I could kiss them all day if she'd let me
Her laugh, her laugh
She hates but I think its so sexy

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Oh you know, you know, you know
Id never ask you to change
If perfect is what you're searching for
Then just stay the same

So don't even bother asking
If you look okay
You know I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are
Girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

.: 7 Days Blog Challenge :.

I love to blog.

There is not a healthier and interesting way of expressing oneself than thru blogging

It may be about the next-coming upbeat concert, or the dress-to-die-for, or emo rants & rages, or the latest recipe you’ve tried, or even just a simple line or two bout your day.

To make my blog a lil more interesting, and taking off from the 30 Days Challenge (which, proud to say, I’ve completed all, whereas Tam & Yin dropped of halfway like flies *pats own back*), I googled and stumbled upon something.

Taa-dahh…

My very own 7 days challenge

Simple rules, go to this site http://www.thewritesource.com/writing_topics/, pick a topic from each grade (for topic no 7, you may pick from any grade of your choice) and blog away!

It is another fun way for your blog readers (and sometimes surprise, surprise – even yourself) to know you a lil better :)

Topics I selected :

I wonder why…
What I know about the stars
Things that are hard to believe
My first school memories
A memorable buss ride
I admit it; I enjoy professional wrestling
My muscles were so sore after…

.: The Last Song : Nicholas Sparks :.

If Nick Sparks were still in school, he'd be in detention for a long time - for making so many girls (like myself) cry!

Ok, fine, it sounded lame when I typed it out, but I sounded alright when it was resonating in my head.
Yes, contrary to what many may think, I do THINK. Not right or straight most of the time, but at least I do!

It took me quite sometime to complete the latest pensmanship of Mr Sparks, not because the storyline was dull or anything, but because I was so busy running up and down for Project Castle & Project Downhill. Yes, if you need to know, that's how the-ever-"optimistic"-me view marriage (and I am not even married yet to begin with)  - going do0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0wnhill.......

Again, another MUST read - but if you're anywhere as emotional as me, box of Kleenex at reach please!

In fact, I was sobbing so much at each turn of the page on the last few chapters that I called JC up at 3am (when i finished the novel) sobbing and crying. The poor fella, groggy & tired, had to console me - over a story which was not even real to begin with. Wonders if he is having second thoughts on marrying me? Hehe!

Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them.

P/S : Thanks Bridget for loaning me the book! :)

.: Feel That Itch :.

I am just itching to bake & cook.

I wanna bake those lovely cupcakes, and learn to ice them properly with coloured buttercream swirl and sprinkle with lil cutesy edible decors!

I want to try another one or two brownie recipes so that I can find the purrfect one!

I wanna try out more recipes – such as banana breadcinnamon buns

I wanna make pesto sauce,

try my hand at making pizza from scratch,

or find the perfect pie pastry recipe for all sorts of pie filling thereon…

I wanna do a roast beef with potato, onions & leeks trimming…

I wanna enjoy an international culinary experience by making Paello (a Spanish dish)

or the humble Chawanmushi (a Japanese egg custard dish)

Or going back to my Malaysian roots with dishes like Ikan Bakar Portugis

or Chai Kueh

or Ngah Poh Loh See Fun (rat’s tail noodles is what my Tax lecturer, Mr Martin used to call it)

I wanna do so much…but…

*gasp for air*

….circumstances do not permit.

Another 2 more months and I will be home free! :)

Just you wait my faithful (underutilized) oven! Just you wait!
