.: ISFJ :.

Take this test at Tickle

You're a ISFJ!

Being an ISFJ, you can be the ultimate team player. This may be largely due to the deep and abiding loyalty you tend to exhibit toward the important people in your life. It can also be a result of the typical ISFJ philosophy that puts the needs of the group before your own desires. The bonds you share with people can run deep, so even those you don't see very often may be considered dear friends. Chances are, your loyalty and caring toward others is duly noted. It's no surprise that people naturally gravitate to such a warm spirit.

In relationships, you appear to use both your head and your heart. It can pain you to see those close to you unhappy and you'll often go out of your way to take care of others. However in your case, being caring doesn't necessarily mean being gushy or overly sentimental. More often, you believe that your actions will simply speak for themselves.

The Love Personality Test

Brought to you by
Tickle
I've taken this type of personality test. Different sets of Questions, but back to the same type of personality. Indeed, I'm a ISFJ! ISFJ stands for Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, Judging

ISFJ, also known as the Nurturer strenghts includes :

-Warm, friendly and affirming by nature
-Service-oriented, wanting to please others
-Good listeners
-Will put forth lots of effort to fulfill their duties and obligations
-Excellent organizational capabilities
-Good at taking care of practical matters and daily needs
-Usually good (albeit conservative) at handling money
-Take their commitments seriously, and seek lifelong relationships

And weaknesses :

-Don't pay enough attention to their own needs
-May have difficulty branching out into new territory
-Extreme dislike of conflict and criticism
-Unlikely to express their needs, which may cause pent-up frustrations to build inside
-Have difficulty leaving a bad relationship
-Have difficulty moving on after the end of a relationship

What ISFJs are when it comes to relationships :

ISFJs place a great deal of importance on their personal relationships. They're generally very giving and loving people, who place the needs of others above their own. They sometimes have a problem with becoming overly emotionally needy, and with keeping their true feelings hidden from others. They take their commitments very seriously, and seek lifelong relationships. ISFJs are extremely dependable, and put forth a lot of energy into keeping things running smoothly. They sometimes have difficulty saying "no" when asked to do something, and therefore may be taken for granted.

"To love means to open ourselves to the negative as well as the positive - to grief, sorrow, and disappointment as well as to joy, fulfillment, and an intensity of consciousness we did not know was possible before." -- Rollo May

So what type of personality group do you fall into?

.: Taming The Tiger : Tony Anthony :.

John's dad borrowed me this book on Sunday. I haven't really got the time to read it until yesterday, where I finished the whole book.

It's a true story of Tony, a little boy of a mixed Chinese-Italian parentage, on how he was trained by his Grandfather (lowsi) in China at a very young age to be the ultimate Kung Fu World Champion.

Tony has travelled round the world, as an elite bodyguard protecting the most famous, wealthiest, powerful and influential people. But his insatable hunger for blood caused him to be imprisoned in Nicosa Central Prison, a place where everyday was a battle of survival.

It was there, behind those prison walls that he learnt and found freedom, in Jesus Christ.

It's such a remarkable testimony on how God can change ANYONE, even the most brutal, bloodthirsty, violent of criminals.

I loved this part the most, where he was explaining to one of the prisoners, when was asked
"How can there be a God, Tony, when all this kind of things happens?"

Let me tell you a story, Tony said.

"There's once a shipwreck, with just one survivor. He made it to a desert island, but when he got there he realised what a desperate situation he was in. He prayed feverishly to God, but nothing happened. All he could do was to built a hut to protect himself from the elements.

One day he returned to the hut after scavenging for food, only to find that the hut was on fire. The midday sun has set it alight and he watched as his last hope went up in smoke.

He was angry.'How can God allow such a thing?'he cried.

That night, he lay under a tree, scared and cold. In the morning, he was woken up by rescuers.

'How did you find me?' he asked them in amazement.

'We saw your smoke signals' they said".

It is indeed a recommended book to christians and non-christians alike.

.: Out Of The Blue : MLFR :.

~ Out Of The Blue : MLTR ~

I was almost about to lose my faith
Was still dreaming but feared it was too late

But then you came along to my surprise
and stole my heart before my very eyes

You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too
only by giving me your everything
with a love so true you took me out of the blue

I was wondering what love was all about
I was trying but couldn’t work it out

But then you came along to my surprise
and made my frozen mind come alive

You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too
only by giving me your everything
with a love so true you took me out of the blue

You let me out of the darkness
you brought me out in the sun
I think you must be the only one for me
'cos you took me

You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too
only by giving me your everything
breathing air below my wings

You took me right out of the night
simply by filling my heart with light
only by giving me your energy
with a love so true you took me out of the blue

.: Of Darkness & Sunshine :.

Watched two movies last weekend.

*The Reaping*

I personally find this movie good, despite very bad reviews from many critics.
Kathrine (Hilary Swank) plays a woman who debunks miracles around the world. Kathrine was a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her husband and daughter was killed as human sacrifice. Kathrine was called to investigate the mystery of a small town which appears to be suffering from the 10 biblical plague.

To those of you who are not familiar with the ten biblical plague, it's written in the book of Exodus in the Bible. Source : www.wikipedia.com

The 10 deadly plague, in chronological order :

(1) River turned red
(2) Reptiles (commonly believed to be frogs)
(3) Lice
(4) Flies (or beetles)
(5) Disease on livestock
(6) Boils
(7) Hail mixed with fire
(8) Locusts
(9) Darkness
(10) Death of the firstborn

The movie ended with a sharp twist. I'm not going to reveal the spoiler, just in case some of you intend to watch it for yourself. *wink*

Movie rate : 7/10

*Sunshine*

For some reason or another, towards the middle part of the movie, I find it very disturbing. But that's my personal experience.

Fifty years from now, the sun is dying. A spaceship (Icarus I) was sent seven years ago, but was contact was lost. Now, Icarus II was sent, humankind last hope. During the course, they heard a distress call of Icarus I and a decision was made to change course and approach Icarus I.
The plot slowly unravels with difficulties encountered by the crew members.

As I sat back, and reflect on this movie, I realised it's not so much so of the sci-fi movie, but rather of a more spiritual or religious experience.
It really reminds me of the same feelings I had when I watched The Matrix.

Anyways, this would be another movie that I would recommend to watch.

Movie rate : 7/10

*Ah-cho0o0o0o0o* *sniff*sniff*

I'm down with a mild flu. Yesterday, while I was lying in bed, I started sneezing and it never stopped since then.

*Ah-cho0o0o0o0o*

I hope it will be better by evening time, coz I already have a dinner and movie date planned tonight. Do not want to annoy the cinema patron coz they paid good money to watch a movie not to hear me sneeze.

*Ah-cho0o0o0o0*

Just receive my credit card bills. More bills to settle, more cash outflow, but no cash inflow. That just means I'm going to be broke soon. I need a job. Any vacancies?

.: Photographs :.

There will always come a point in time where we sit and look back at our life. Memories begin to flood in like water from a crumbling dam. Good ol' memories, some of happy times and more often than not of sad times.

When I'm back in my hometown, Malacca, I never fail to do this ; flip through the photograph albums parked underneath the coffee table in the living room, whether I'm alone, or sharing it with someone. I love to look back at all the pictures taken. From pictures of my Grandpa's younger days (he's really good looking back then, you know, the playboyish kinda look), pictures of my aunties and uncles growing up, or our annual family pictures.

Sometimes my brother and cousins would point out to each other how silly we used to look, all the funny poses we made, the horrendous (with nasty Simon Cowell's tone) clothes we were made to wear, some were actually hand-me-down-clothes so you can see Ben wearing it one year and Kevin wearing the exact same clothes five years later. Talk about handing down bad jeans (pun intended!)

Then of course there are those sweet memories we, like the picture of my Grandpa teaching me to dance (I failed miserably coz I'm just born with two left feet), the birthdays we celebrated together as a family, the weddings we attended, the annual reunion dinner we have on Chinese New Year's eve, (with all the nice food our Grandma cooked).

People often say that a picture paints a thousand words.

I disagree.

It does more than that.
It brings back a million memories, a billion emotions.
It also reminds us that even though we would one day leave this earth, the best things we could leave behind for our loved ones is not earthly possesions like silver or gold, rather it would be of memories that would last forever.

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love,
the things you are,
the things you never want to lose.

.: Insensitive : Jann Arden :.

~ Insensitive : Jann Arden ~

How do you cool your lips, after a summer's kiss?
How do you rid the sweat, after the body's bliss?
How do you turn your eyes, from the romantic glare?
How do you block the sound of a voice
You'd know anywhere?

Oh I really should've known
By the time you drove me home
By the vagueness in your eyes, your casual goodbyes
By the chill in your embrace
The expression on your face told me
Maybe you might have some advice to give
On how to be insensitive, insensitive, insensitive

How do you numb your skin, after the warmest touch?
How do you slow your blood, after the body rush?
How do you free your soul, after you've found a friend?
How do you teach your heart it's a crime to fall in love again?

Oh you probably won't remember me
It's probably ancient history
I'm one of the chosen few
Who went ahead and fell for you
I'm out of vogue, I'm out of touch
I Fell too fast, I feel too much
I thought that you might have some advice to give
How to be insensitive

Oh I really should've known
By the time you drove me home
By the vagueness in your eyes, your casual goodbyes
By the chill in your embrace
The expression on your face told me
Maybe you might have some advice to give
On how to be insensitive

.: The Wedding : Nicholas Sparks :.

Read a heartwarming novel written by Nicholas Sparks : The Wedding.

This book is written in the first person, narrative style, of Wilson Lewis. Wilson Lewis is a sucessful real estate attorney who is a man who has trouble expressing his emotions, especially to his beloved wife, Jane.

The story started with how Wilson absent-mindedly forgets his 29th wedding anniversary which greatly upsetted his wife. He apologised to her, even bought her an expensive bottle of perfume the very next day but the damage was already done. It was then that Wilson vowed to make their 30th anniversary a special one.

However, a few weeks short of their anniversary, their oldest daughter, Anna announced that she and her boyfriend Keith planned to be married on that day too. But Anna wasn't too keen on having a proper wedding ceremony. Jane however insisted that she must have a proper wedding, not like the one she and Wilson had.

So, the plot of the story soon evolves to how Jane helped Anna plan out the nitty gritty part of the wedding, such as the gown, the cake and all.

The storylione entwinged with flashbacks of how Wilson and Jane started off, from their first date, first kiss, how he proposed and so on.

Despite of the lack of romanticism on Wilson's side, I could not help but feel for him. When I continued to read the passages, it so beautifully describes how Wilson is so in love with her, just that he doesn't know how to express it to her.

The novel ended with a big twist and with tears in my eyes.

Do read it if you have the time.

.: Shopping :.

ALL women loves shopping right?

Wrong.

I absolutely dislike shopping.

Just like most men (note the word "most" coz I know there are some who actually do love to shop), I prefer to just go in and straight away buy whatever I need. "Focused-shopping" I would call it. Rather than to peruse through all the shoes on each shoe rack in the shop, annoy the salesperson by insisting on trying on all the 5 different colours of the same shoe and at the end of it all, decide not to buy any coz your main intention was to actually buy a dress to go with your newly purchased shoes yesterday!

When I tried to elaborate to Tammie (my cousin sister) my theory on focused-shopping as we walked around Mahkota Parade aimlessly, she gave me that look as if I just spoke French or something.
In an annoyed tone, she said out loud :
"Where is your female hormones?"

Darn!

Should get my DNA tested to see if I actually do have the female "shopping" genes......

.: The Unconvincing Truth :.

I’m listening to My Chemical Romance: I Don’t Love You again and again and again. You see, I have this bad compulsive habit of listening to a song I like over and over again. And the song will stick to my head everywhere I go. And the only way to break this spell is to replace it with another song. And the whole cycle repeats itself.

Feeling kinda gloomy today. One part due to this song, one part coz I’m pms-ing and one part coz I woke up at the wrong side of the bed. Deadly combination I guess.

But it’s ok. Coz I know in the end, things will work out for the better. And if it doesn’t, it just means it’s not the end.

I wonder to myself sometimes. Is there actually a person who can honestly say that he or she is true to himself or herself? That he or she is absolutely honest of the things he or she do? Or is everyone else like me? Merely actor or actress for a play entitled : Life?

Jaques:
“All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages."

- As You Like It (William Shakespeare)

Sometimes we just go along and play our part. When we are sad, we put on a mask to hide our true feelings from the world. We put out a brave front even though we are trembling with fear inside. We hold back tears when all we want to do is break down and cry. We act cool and pretend not to care, but deep down inside we do.

My kor once told me this:
“Those who are selfless are those who live a life of truth. And those who live truthfully are first and foremost, true to themselves.”

How is it we could live a truthful life? How is it can we be true to ourselves? Some things are so much easier said than done. Even though I feel tired putting on a mask every morning when I have to, it’s the easiest thing to do most of the time, isn’t it?

Maybe it is because the truth hurts. Maybe what we're eventually trying to do is protect the people around us from being hurt. And also ourselves maybe?

Or perhaps it is because it is so much easier to live a lie?

I really do wonder.....

.: Grandpa :.

~Grandpa~

If tears could build a stairway
And sweet memories a lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our heart still aches with sadness
And secret tears still flows
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still have so much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A cherished place within our heart
Is where you'll always stay

Dedicated to my Grandpa who is now in heaven, dwelling among angels.
It's been one year since you left us here. We still miss you alot Grandpa. Christmas, Chinese New Year, it's not the same without you. For the first time since I even remember, we did not take our annual CNY family picture like we used to. I miss that. I miss the fact that I don't wake up on the morning of the first day of CNY listening to CNY songs being played on the stereo. I miss that I can't talk to you anymore. I miss hearing you tell us stories of the old days. I miss your laughter. I miss your smile. I miss you jokes. I miss your valuable advises.
Grandpa, I just miss you very much.

.: Midnight Cantonese Movie :.

Was watching a cantonese movie late last night on NTV7. I actually try to avoid myself from watching these kinda cantonese movies. You know, the kind that the television stations will play really late at night, and drag till the wee hours of the morning, usually after a 30 mins news bulletin.

Reason being is that no matter how CORNY or LAME or PREDICTABLE the movie is, I will end up shedding tears. Somehow, for some weird reason or another, some scenes or lines said will just move that lil' heart of mine and before I know it, tears starts to well up.

Yesterday was no different.

Darn, I just don't understand myself sometimes.....

.: Part Of Your World :.

I just don't see how a world that,
That makes such wonderful things...could be bad.
Look at this stuff. Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has ev'rything?

Look at this trove, treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here, you'd think
Sure, she's got ev'rything

I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got who's-its and what's-its galore
You want thing-a-ma-bobs?
I've got twenty
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancin'
Walkin' around on those
Whaddya call them? Oh, feet

Flippin' your fins, you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
Stollin' along down the
What's that word again? Street

Up where they walk, up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free, wish I could be
Part of that world

What I would give if I could live
Out of these waters
What I would pay to spend a day
Warm on the sand

Betcha on land they understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women sick of swimmin'
Ready to stand

And ready to know what the people know
Ask them my questions, get some answers
What's a fire? and why does it
What's that word? Burn?

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore
That shore up above, out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

.: This Is Still My Playground :.

I loved going to the playground when I was a kid (which is not that long ago *wink*wink*)

But even up till now, I could never refuse an offer to go to the playground. In fact, I would beg my cousins to go along with me so that it would seem like I'm babysitting them instead. *wink*

There's a playground a stone throw away from my house in PJ. It used to be smaller with the basic amenities like the swing, the slide and see-saw. But now, it's even much cooler as there's those "play structure" made of plastic, which is a combination of different pieces of equipments such as the swing, monkey bars, tube tunnel, tic-tac-toe spinners.... you get what I mean.

But I still love the original swing they have there.
I know it's weird, but whenever I get on a swing and just swing-swing-swing, it feels that all my problems at that time just disappears.
It's a natural anti-depression drug for me and the best thing is... it's FREE!

Swing, swing, swing....

More swing, swing, swing....

And no Ah Yin, by taking this kinda pictures doesn't mean I'm some pedophile psychopath stalking on little kids ok?

.: I Don't Love You : My Chemical Romance :.

~ I Don't Love You : My Chemical Romance ~

When you go
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way

When after all this time that you still owe
You're still, the good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can

When you go
Would you even turn to say
"I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday"

Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating
But baby when they knock you
Down and out
It's where you oughta stay

And after all the blood that you still owe
Another dollar's just another blow
So fix your eyes and get up
Better get up
While you can

Whoa, whooa

When you go
Would you even turn to say
"I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday"

Well come on, come on
When you go
Would you have the guts to say
"I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday"

I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday

I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday

Recommended song to listen. You can really feel the emotion of the band when singing this song.

.: Mr Bean's Holiday :.

Went to watch Mr Bean's Holiday on Sunday in IOI Mall after attending church service . Was thinking that it shouldn't be so crowded as compared to the bigger shopping malls like 1 Utama or Midvalley. But I was quite surprised that there's actually a que (though I relatively shorter one as compared to other cinemas).

The show was not as funny as I expect it to be. But then again, the last Mr Bean movie I've watch is way back in 1997 - Mr Bean : The Ultimate Disaster.

The movie started with Mr Bean winning a free holiday to Cannes, France and a video camera.

Mr Bean having a meal in a restaurant

After having a meal in a station restaurant (as pic above) of life oysters and prawns, Mr Bean heads towards the platform. There, he asked a man, Emil who happens to be a Russian movie Director, to videocam him walking onto the train. And thanks to that, the man gets left behind when the train pulls out from the station. Emil's son, Stepan was left on board alone.

The plot goes on showing the adventures Mr Bean and Stepan had while travelling to Cannes to find Stepan's dad. On they way, he met with an aspiring young actress, Sabine, who was also on her way to Cannes for the Cannes Film Festival.

Mr Bean trying to steal the moped

Granny Bean

My favourite part was when Mr Bean started dancing to the various music coming out from speaker (which he stole from a CD vendor nearby) in order to get some money. He mimes an opera in which he carries Stepan as if Stepan was dead, and lays him on the ground. The market crowd was amused, as they clapped and cheered and gave them loads on money. The whole scene was really hillarious.

In the end, all's well ends well. Stepan was reunited with his dad & mom and Mr Bean gets to go to the beach (which was where he wanted to go to all the while) and everyone lived happily ever after.

A movie worth watching for if you really have nothing to do and would love to entertain yourselves with the antics of Mr Bean.

I was kinda amused they way the little kids in the cinema laughs at his antics. It's such a greatjoy to hear the innocent laughters of those kiddos. It really takes so little to make them laugh. Reminds me of my little cousins back home in Malacca. Miss them all so much, especially Baby Rach.

Looking forward to seeing you guys next weekend. *hugz*
