.: An Alternative to Lightsaber :.

Is this how engineers are like?
Looks like accountants are not the only weirdos around! :)

.: Shadows of Doubts :.

Rethink. Rethink. Rethink.

Wonder whether I can deal with the humiliation if I call the wedding off at this stage. There are just times where I really can’t deal with it. And I don’t mean the planning and preparation for the event (which is already draining me as it is). It’s just that, there are moments where I don’t know for sure if JC’s really the one? And to make such commitment when my heart and head is still in doubt, does it mean that for sure he isn’t THE ONE?

I mean, if I already know that he is THE ONE, I shouldn’t be getting cold feet more frequent than getting a pedicure.

To a point where I am asking my friends whether a no-show bride or a divorcee is less humiliating. Pardon my negativity.

Really giving this questioning look to God, coz I really don’t understand why I am going thru the motions when He has already assured me earlier that this is the right choice.

Just needed to rant it all out before I go completely beserk !

.: Ooh Am Jee :.

I was almost hyperventilating when I tabled down our budgeted wedding expenses and clicked the autosum function in the excel worksheet.

OMG!

And to think that I have prudently planned and cut corners as much as I could.
I cannot imagine how much it would have cost if I didn’t!

.: Pool For Pooh :.

Kath : Drew, lets go out for a game of pool or to a CC to play COD4 or something. I need a break from all the feminine girly wedding and house reno and décor whimsy stuff and just do something masculine and manly.
Drew : Pool at Taipan tomorrow night?
Kath : You’re on!

It’s been a while since I played pool. Almost two years plus since here!

Its bout time I put whatever theoretical thingy I learn in my Form 5 physics into practical application.

.: Impossible :.

I feel like throwing up.

It's not morning sickness or that I'm bullimic, but its because of the deadline we have to meet for our year end closing this June.

Seriously. Impossible.

.: Bunny, Bunny, Hop, Hop :.

Sometimes I wish I can just ball up these tiny lil snippets of happy moments into a beaker tube, condense it into a lil pill, pack it and store it away til I am having one of the my-life-sucks days, where I will just take a pill and voila – happy days for me!

Well, if only.

And dear, it’s bunny, bunny, hop, hop!~
Not bunny hop, bunny hop.
It just doesn’t have that flow.

p/s : I am gonna get two bunnies for my lil howse soon! :)

.: Head & Shoulder, Knees & Toes :.

Conversation between me and my ditzy cousin, Tammie

Tammie : I stumped my feet on the table and my whole baby toe nail came off. wonder how long will it take for it to grow back?
Kath : Oh, the whole big toe nail of mine came out after a hiking trip and it took like a year to grow back. Perhaps yours will take like half a year?
Tammie : Or probably shorter than that, like 6 months?
Kath : Half a year IS six months! -.-‘

Lol. Just love her to bitz!

.: When In Rome :.

Why I rather not be in Rome.

I got two tickets to watch the premier of When In Rome on Monday.

In all honestly, I personally think it’s one of the worse movie I have ever watched. To begin with, I didn’t set the bar high by building unreasonable expectations of this movie. After watching the trailer, I actually expected it to be mediocre, by boy was I disappointed as it turned out to be way worse!

To begin with, the cast was an array of actors or actresses that was as stiff as a cardboard. Even the lead actor (Josh) and actress (Kristen) shows nothing of the tiniest hint of chemistry whatsoever. The other actors (who played the suitor of Beth (Kirsten)) was either so dull or overly exaggerated (Please don’t tell me it was meant to be that way, because it could have been better if it’s not!). The storyline was too predictable that the only surprise I had was that there were no surprises.

Would I pay to watch this movie?
Heck, no!

Would I watch it for free again?
Heck, no!

Would I pay NOT to watch the movie?
Yes! (It was really, really that bad)

.: Watching From Above :.

It’s unbelievable how four years have just passed us by.

Tho it’s been so long, the memories are still fresh like it was just yesterday, and it just makes me miss you even more.

I really wished that you could have been there to share with me the milestones of my life.

But I know that you are; up in heaven – the best seat of all; looking down.

Hopefully I still make you as proud of me as ever.

.: Nocturnal :.

I am a night-person. I function best at night. My brain really takes a long time to warm up (usually about 3pm) and the best, effecient time is from 3pm-9pm.

Another reason why I love to work at night is bcoz there's no interuptions, no phone calls or emails or boss asking you to do something else when you are in the midst of concerntrating on a perticular mind-challanging task.

But, having said that, I still do not enjoy my work.

Someone please remind me why I am in this line?

.: Common Sense :.

Common Sense
So rare that it's a super power.

.: Irenelim Fashion - A Consumer's Review :.

In this modern time, there are just a million reasons to love online shopping (or blogshopping as how I would refer it too). Among other reasons:

1) It is so convenient - you can do it anywhere with an internet connection 24/7 and it is the only way you can shop in your pajamas and unbrushed teeth? *wink*

2) It the best way to hunt yourself a good bargain – you can do your price comparisons by opening multiple internet browsers as oppose to walking in and out of shops after shops. And reviewers such as My Sales Hunter or Fashionista 1001 – Alternatives makes this process all so much the easier.

3) Other savings
(i) Time savings – have you ever tried to look for parking spaces in places like One Utama or The Curve on weekends? Madness I tell you! Madness!
(ii) Cost savings – you save on parking fees, petrol, etc

With the mushrooming of many blogshops, even at local entry area, how do one choose which blog to shop from?

Now, I am extremely fussy on the blogshops I shopped at, and I value good service on top of my (unreasonable) demand for high quality goods at value-for-money prices. And so far, only a few blogshops made it to the list.

When my cousin, Tammie, mentioned to me early this week of Project Witch for Irenelim Fashion, the name immediately rang a bell. I have seen many positive reviews and feedbacks of this shop (although I have not personally shopped here before) and I thought yes, perhaps I should have a look at what this site has to offer.

I love the variety of clothes they have, especially the dresses, so after a quick, hasty decision (as I was still not sure if Project Witch was an April Fool joke extended because someone forgot to highlight that at the end of 1st April), I picked this dress.

Filled up the form (on Monday), and waited (skeptically, if I may add) for the email. And then the email came the next day (Tuesday) – to confirm that I am taking part in Project Witch, my order was confirmed, and the clothes was delivered yesterday (Thursday). Talk about efficiency! I never expect to see the goods until like next week!

I eagerly open up the package like an overly-excited 5 year-old on the first day of Christmas, and when I unfold it, in front of my mom, she went like “Wow, nice!”.

Ok, for the benefit of those who do not know my mom, her compliments are even rarer than the sighting of Big Foot. So for her to say that it is nice, plus after she examine closely at the quality of the goods, her nodding her head – as a seal of approval, that is really something. And let me tell you, her QC is really of top notch and she has reprimanded me with constant nagging for purchasing online clothes that are of less-to-her-standard quality.
The dress that I got! :)
Pardon the crumpleness, I had no time to iron before modelling it.
Also, pardon the (lack of) model-like pose, I am just too stiff!

So, good, super fast and efficient service of top quality clothes at an unbelievably affordable price, what else is there to ask for?

So blogwalk yourself right in to Irenelim Fashion and go ahead to buy the item that catches you eye.

P/S : Don’t hesitate too long, or the fast-selling items would be out-of-stock before you can say “Bunny, bunny, hop hop!~”

Why bunny, bunny, hop hop? Coz I am random like that! :)

.: Legally Un-Blonde :.

Herein, therein, hereto, forthwith…

As I draft my own tenancy agreement (bcoz I am too cheap to hire my own lawyer, so I might as well make a lawyer-buruk of myself), I realize that lawyers actually do have a strange lingo of their own don’t they?

Take this for example :

Our Father, whose predominant residence pattern is widely perceived as being in an exo-atmospheric environment, your name shall be treated, as a matterof course, in a reverential demeanor appropriate to existing protocol guidelines. It is to be hoped that, as an optimal result of the ongoing situational development, your form of governmental institution may be, in accordance with the appropriate procedures, finalized within the foreseeable future, in forms applicable to both bilateral and multilateral fora. It is therefore to be hoped that you will undertake the creation of the necessary administrative modalities to ensure the provision to recipient entities of requisite alimentary sustenance. Help our antagonists to recognize that any temporary, unvalidated, and erroneous presumptions of instances of our apparent non-compliance with duly undertaken obligations arise from their refusal to objectively assess the broad parameters of our clearly-demonstrated-over-time, historic pattern of full commitment and, most importantly, have no bearing on our relationship while noting that their consistent unquestionable pattern of non-compliant behavior introduces substantial concern over the sustained viability of their willingness to observe so essential a set of international obligations. We call upon you to reduce the availability of opportunities for any perceived deviation on our part from proscribed norms, both substantive and procedural, and reduce the willingness of our opponents to examine closely the facts of our position. For it is the Father, who has complete jurisdiction, and all encompassing authority indefinitely. Provide us with appropriate modalities for coming, with all deliberate expeditiousness, to closure, unless otherwise agreed between the parties.

Which literally translate to :

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

Ok, I need to get back to my drafting my legal documents now....

.: Smile :.

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just...

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just...

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...

If you smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile...

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

.: Date Night :.

Steve "40-year-old-virgin" Carrel and Tina "Sarah Palin" Fey teamed up in romance-comedy-action (I am not very sure exactly which genre this movie falls under, but I reckon is the combination of the above with a respective 2:5:3 ratio - sue me for being so anal).

I was one of the few privallaged ones to get to watch the premiere of this movie last night.

How did I like it?

Enough to recommend it you guys to watch it.

But not enough to compulse me to watch this movie twice (so far, only movies like Shrek I or You've Got Mail or My Best Friend's Wedding have reached to that satisfactory level for me).

The movie is basically about a suburban couple, Phil & Claire Foster, slogging through their daily lives and marriage. When a close couple friend disclosed to them that they are separating, it shocked both of them to the core as they reflect back on their married life (this was the part that seriously scared me the most - to think JC & I will be like them soon enough, when everything becomes routined and mundaned. OMG, why did I agree to marry him? Ok, ok, back to the movie review) To reignite the marital spark and not just let this routine drift them apart to be just "really great roommates" they visit a trendy Manhattan bistro (as opposed to the borin' old restaurant they go to on their weekly date nights).

But, by a simple twist of fate and Murphy-law pulling a fast one on them, a case of mistaken identity hurtles them through the city at breakneck speeds, wild, crazy non-stop adventure to save their lives.... and in the process, save their marriage.

Indeed, this was one date night that the Fosters could never forget.....

As for me, the movie was basically entertaining, with myself & my date (my aunt) laughing at some really hilarious scenes, but also cringing to some really unnecessary lame scenes.

Well, did the Fosters manage to safe their life and their marriage? Well, it's no spoiler that this movie (like any other romantic comedy movies) ended with a happily ever after.

My favourite part?

Well, it was the part where Phil said to Claire (pardon if it's not the word to word quote) "If I had to do it all over again. I would. You. Me. The kids. I would..."

Now everyone go awwwwwww.... :)

.: Clash Of The Titans :.

Manage to catch the premiere of Clash of the Titans at GSC 1 Utama with my brother last night.

Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Sadly to say, my brother and I didn’t really enjoy the movie that much. The storyline was far too underdeveloped. They tried to cramp all the scenes way too much and there were some unnecessary scenes that dragged a bit to long for my liking. The effects and graphics are nothing to shout about. The actor and actresses acting skills are mediocre only. All in all, in my humble opinion, one can give this movie a skip.
