.: Hakuna Matata :.

I was surfing (channel surfing that is), and when I pause to the Disney Channel, guess what I saw?

Yup! Timon and Pumba.

I loved to watch this cartoon when I was small. And I'm still loving it now *wink*

I absolutely love their "Hakuna Matata" philosophy.

Apparently, the word "Hakuna Matata" is a Swahili word which translates to - no worries.

And so Timon and Pumba's theme song :

Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase

Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze

It means no worries for the rest of your days

It's our problem-free philosophy

Hakuna Matata!

Hakuna Matata?

Yeah. It's our motto!

What's a motto?

Nothing. What's a-motto with you?

Those two words will solve all your problems

That's right.... Take Pumbaa here
Why, when he was a young warthog...

When I was a young wart hog

Very nice

Thanks

He found his aroma lacked a certain appeal
He could clear the savannah after every meal

I'm a sensitive soul though I seem thick-skinned
And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind
And oh, the shame ..... He was ashamed
Thought of changin' my name .... What's in a name?
And I got downhearted .... How did ya feel?
Everytime that I...

Hey! Pumbaa! Not in front of the kids!
Oh. Sorry

Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze

It means no worries for the rest of your days

It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna--

It means no worries for the rest of your days

It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
(Repeats)

I say "Hakuna"

I say "Matata"

Isn't it wonderful to live a live of Hakuna Matata?

One can always wish :)

.: I Believe :.

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get return ...

Karma is a Sanskrit word that means actions or activities and its subsequent result.

In the song of Alicia Keys, Karma

What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
It's called Karma baby and it goes around

Justin Timberlake describes the meaning Karma in his song, What Goes Around Comes Around

What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around

But do I really believe in Karma?
I don't think I actually do.

Look at the world today.
Majority of the good people are suffering, and the evil ones are enjoying.

Nice people finish last they always say.

Is it fair?

Would I still want to be "good" knowingly in the end I would not be "rewarded"?

Why don't I choose to be evil and enjoy life as it is?

Well, my conscience don't allow me to do so.
I know what is right and what is wrong. And it's wrong to be evil.

.: Prayers :.

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island.

The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agree that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing the first man prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that his wife and he could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from Heaven booming, "Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"

"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the first man answered. "His prayers were all unanswered, and so he does not deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "what did he pray for that I should owe him anything?"
"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us.

When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you!

.: TGIF :.

It's Friday...

Who0o0o ho0o0o!

Why am I so excited?

Nopez, it's not because I have a hot date or something to that effect.....

It's because,

...it's because....

...it's because....

I can sleep late tomorrow..... Wo0o0o0o Ho0o0o0o0!

Ok, ok, not that late coz I'm reminded of my final EE class tomorrow. Which reminds me that I should bring a camera :)

I want to take pics.

And I know a blog is not a blog till it got pictures. Loads and loads of pictures. *This I learn from Ah Yin*

It's been a really hectic week. And I know it wouldn't get any less hectic. So I just have to bear with it.

Yesterday I attended a committee meeting for our Church Camp. I was pulled into this committee last minute, as they needed someone to do the costing/accounts/collection of money and who else to assist JC but me! Darn!

Nevermind, Jesse & I choose to believe that the committee need us because they could not kick off without us ladies! *wink*wink*

As the saying goes, behind every great men, there's a even greater women that made him great to begin with!

*Ok fine, so I made that up!*

Jesse is Daniel's wife (Daniel is the church's youth leader),by the way, and she's also my sponsor. I like her very very much. She's really such a nice person :)

So the meeting started at 8.30pm (not sharp needless to say - typical Malaysian)

We expected it to end by latest 9.45pm, but we only left church at about close to 11pm.

Needless to say, I slept late last night.

I'm super exhausted today, due to cummulative effect.

.: ICAEW Exam :.

Monday was D-Day where I had my TACT1 exams. It was dead difficult. When the whole thing was over, I literally leaned against the wall in exhaustion. Exams was for 3 1/2 hours. 3 1/2 long hours or writing, thinking, calculation all simultaneously. Well the thinking part was literally left out coz I didn't have the time to actually THINK.

It's frustrating really, after all the revision and preparation that I've done. Even minutes before entering the hall, I feel like I've learnt nothing, as if I've never attended any classes or did any revisions. I was really shaken then. It was nice that one of my batchmates, Gaya gave me a hug. It was what I needed then.

Going into the hall, I sat at my allocated place right in front - first row, first table. Arranged my books (it's an open book exam, so I wasn't cheating) neatly on the desk, took out my stationery and started filling the attandance card. I put down my pen, looked at the big clock in front of me. Two more minutes till 4.30 pm. I closed my eyes, said a lil prayer. And as the invigilator asked us to start the paper, I took a deep breath, open my eyes, and flipped the paper open.

.... 3 1/2 hours passed just like that...

Everything that I've learned in the past 7 weeks, will be reflected in this paper. It's all or nothing.

I didn't had a good feeling after the exams. Minus the headache and gastric I was suffering at that moment, I still felt lousy - even until today.

Part of me just know for sure that I won't make it this round.

But there's also this part of me that still clings to the hope that by God's grace I could marginally pass.

No matter what, I know that it's beyond my control now, and I should leave it all in God's hands. I've done what I thought was the best I could do given the circumstances. There's always room for improvement, no doubt about it. But no regrets.

Having said that, no matter how hard I try to mentally prepare myself for the worse case scenario, I know when that day arrive, I will still be sad and most likely end up crying.

And that is the same day where Malaysia would celebrate her 50th independence day.

Indeed, MERDEKA to some.

Unfortunately not all.

.: Jon Bon Jovi :.

I'm secretly (not a secret anymore) a big fan on Micheal Learn To Rock (MLTR) and Jon Bon Jovi.

As I was driving to college a few days ago, I heard this song on the radio. But they never annouced the name of the song and the singer, but I immediately recognised the deep, sexy tone of Bon Jovi.

So here it is, one of the many songs I love from Jon Bon Jovi.

Bon Jovi (You Want To) Make a Memory Lyrics
Plus, he has a really cute smile, don't you think so?
I just fell for his smile when I was watching the MTV clip for I'm All About Loving You
*awwww*
p/s : I don't really get star struck too often, so let me indulge now okies? *wink*

.: Living With Limitation :.

Aunty Rosalina (my EE trainer) recommended me to read this book. It's written by Rev Wong Kim Kong. Rev Kim Kong is the Secretary General of the NECF, serves as Hon Treasurer of EFA. He was also the founding Chairman of Malaysian CARE. Click here to know more of his background.

So I read the book in one night.

It really touched my heart.

One of the many things which I've learned from reading this book, is the principal of Issacs.

It was something that David Tow (Rosalina's husband) had taught Kim Kong.

On a side note, Issac is the only son of Abraham, his only son whom he love. He was then called by God to sacrifise his son Issac, and Abraham obeyed. It demonstrated Abraham's complete trust in God. To know more, it's in the Book of Genesis or you can read it here.

The Issacs in our lives represents the things that we love most and are most precious to us. These are the things in our lives that are most difficult for us to let go. The BIG question is, are we willing to let go our Issacs to the Lord?

It really got me thinking.

Different people have different Issacs in our lives, but all of us have them. Let it be friends, family, career, money, etc.

How many of us can say that we can surrender it all to the Lord?To consecrate them for His use and purpose?

I know I can't. But I'm trying.

A book that I do recommend to read, and perhaps it touches your heart as much as it did mine.

.: What I Learned In Sunday School :.

Last Sunday, I asked permission from Aunty Janet (one of the Sunday School teacher - who also so happens to be my EE Assistant Trainer) to observe the activities held in Sunday School.

Lil did I know that I was "hired" as a Sunday School teacher.....

Well, they claimed that they are lacking of help. There's usually three teachers for three different age group (which I can't clearly distinguish the age group still as I've gotten different catergories from the different Sunday School teachers themselves) but apparently these kids can be a handful (I agree!) *wink*

Sunday School started with all the kiddos (combined) singing a song with Uncle Jeffrey (who is my EE partner) leading the way. It's so cute to see the lil kids have fun singing "Father Abraham" while shaking their hands and legs and heads and spinning around. It was more funnier though to see Jeff doing that.. *hehe*

After all the hopping and jumping around, the kids have a break @ breakfastime. David (Uncle Freddy & Aunty Irene's youngest son) offered me a piece of cake and a cup of orange juice. Gosh, he's such a sweetheart.

Later, I was helping Aunty Mandy (who happens to be my Prayer Partner - see how we are all "link" in this very small church) who's in charge of the youngest age group, while Jeff & Janet continued with their own age group classes. Since the kids in my class are still young, they were suppose to do some colouring work.Sad to say, most of them fail to finish colouring coz they really (and I mean really) have vey short attention span. But it was cute, as I was helping Joel to colour. Joshua came into class much later after that, but he had such a short attention span, he ran off to play with some toys after a few minutes of colouring.

Janessa (Uncle Jimmy & Aunty Jaime eldest daughter) did a good job by completing her artwork :)

Today was a combined class for the two lower age group with the two Sunday School teachers - Mandy and Dr Tui. We did a lil artwork and I was reminded again how artistic *cough* "artistic" I am. Anyways, I helped Janessa, Jessica (Ps Johnny & Aunty Mary's eldest daughter - who is also Janessa's cousin) & Caleb (Uncle Chek Wai & Aunty Janet's youngest son) with their artwork. It was of a lil "Earth" with a circular band of plastic (from a plastic bottle) tied together with a rafia string. When the string was tied, it's as if the earth was "spinning" around the plastic band. Kinda cool really.

Memory verse of the day was from the book of Genesis.

"God created... the Earth."

I had so much fun.

Plus Janessa called me "jie-jie". I was actually worried that my "jie-jie" status will be "upgraded" to "aunty" or something, but hey, I'm still a jie jie. *wink*wink*

And.... Janessa did say that she's going to make a card for me... *awwww*
I'm actually touched by just the thought of it......

I love lil kids. Will take pics of them and post it up so that you guys would understand why my heart just melts when I'm spending time with them...

.: Exams :.

Exams is in T minus 7 days.......

Stress, Stress, Stress !!!

I suddenly have the urge to bake a banana crumble... I got the recipe, I just need a kitchen.

(My mum is very territorial when it comes to her kitchen - hence doing this at home is a BIG NO-NO!)

Tam, I'm going over to your place to bake one.

Yin, when you need a ride home from Cyber?

Banana crumble..... Mmmmmmm.....

.: Studying :.

I'm suppose to be studying, but look at me, blogging twice today!

Well, I have a very simple concept to motivate myself to study.

For every Question I attempt, I reward myself with a break; which equates to

45 mins per Question = 2 hours of break

That's why I'm only into my 4th Question now. *wink*

I'm especially lazy when it comes to studying (but then again, I'm practically lazy when it comes to anything at all).

Aiks... Back to the books.....

.: Juwita Suwito : Wishing For You :.

Juwita Suwito
Wishing For You

It often doesnt matter how it starts
The best things can happen with a gentle touch
I'm not ashamed to say
I would be more than okay
If by some chance you'd just ask me to stay

Do I see a twinkle of hope that's in ur eyes?
When u smile it feels so right, its no surprise
It's only you and I under the stars of tonight
Do we dare take it to where it feels right?

How do I see what's right for me
Do I deny what's inside?

If I had wings I would fly
Lifting my soul to the skies
If I had nine lived to live
Wish I had you to be with
If I could make dreams come true
Of all the things I would do
I know that I would be wishing for you

Don't get me wrong, I dont live a life of dreams
But sometimes its easier for me
Why does it feel so right believing it day and night?
Wishing that someday you might be with me

How do I see what's right for me
Do I deny what's inside?

If I had wings I would fly
Lifting my soul to the skies
If I had nine lived to live
Wish I had you to be with
If I could make dreams come true
Of all the things I would do
I know that I would be wishing for you

If I had wings I would fly
Lifting my soul to the skies
If I had nine lived to live
Wish I had you to be with
If I could make dreams come true
Of all the things I would do
I know that I would be wishing for you

If I had wings I would fly
Lifting my soul to the skies
If I had nine lived to live
Wish I had you to be with
If I could make dreams come true
Of all the things I would do
I know that I would be wishing for you
