.: YoGa Pose :.

Today at yoga class I saw this elderly man (definately above 55 years) did the Urdhva Dhanurasana pose (also known as Upward Bow Pose or Wheel Pose).

My jaw dropped - I mean, how can this old man be so flexible?

Then the yoga teacher turned to me and asked me if I would like to try. You see, today in class, there was only three of us. The elderly man has been practising yoga for close to 30 years. The lady for 8 years. And me - a few days short from six months.

I was like "Are you even sure I can do that?"

I mean, can you imagine a hippo in that pose? Yeah, neither can I, hence, the scepticism.

To which he replied "Well, you can try!"

I reluctantly agree to try, which slight comfort knowing that I'm insured (under Prudential *wink*) if anything should happen to me. Tho I'm not very sure if it covers injuries due to stupidity attempting nearly impossible yoga poses.

But to my utter surprise - I did it.

I mean, I actually did the Urdhva Dhanurasana pose!

So proud of myself.

It was like on-top-of-the-mountain-high feeling for me....................

.............until I realise I do not know how to get out of that pose.

I went like "Oh no! How do I get out of this pose" to which everyone laughed, including the yoga teacher who helped me dislodge my pose. >.<

.: Be Careful :.

Edited (7th May) : Another similiar incident in Kota Bahru.

Robbed of her most precious thing - her life. Such irresponsible acts of such snatch thieves!

JOHOR BARU: The killers on motorcycles have done it again — this time, snatch thieves took two lives when they tried to rob pregnant Jamilah Selamat.

Jamilah, 31, suffered severe head injuries after falling from her motorcycle on Sunday. She died at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital at 7.30am yesterday without regaining consciousness.

Her husband of seven months, trader Razali Ahmad, 41, was a distraught man yesterday.
For him, the tragedy was harder to take because he had just started to taste happiness again after five years when his first wife died of cancer.

The tragedy also leaves Jamilah’s two children from her first marriage — Norasyikin Salleh, seven, and Mohd Khairi Ridwan Salleh, five — without their mother. They looked dazed and clung to their crying stepfather.

Razali said he was told by an eyewitness — his older brother’s friend — that his wife had hit the pavement face first and did not move after that.
“The witness told me that he saw two men on a motorcycle flee the scene immediately after Jamilah fell, and her bag was nowhere to be seen,” he told reporters at the hospital mortuary yesterday.

Razali said Jamilah, a handicraft dealer, was on her way home to Taman Mekar after work that day.

Jamilah had lost her handbag to snatch thieves last year but escaped unharmed. A friend advised her to twirl the handbag around the rearview mirror for a tighter hold.

That move may have been fatal.

In mourning: Razali with his stepchildren Norasyikin and Mohd Khairi at the mortuary yesterday.

When the snatch thieves grabbed Jamilah’s bag, they pulled her motorcycle, causing Jamilah to fall.

“I never thought that I would lose her this way. We were expecting our child, we have only been married for seven months ... I lost my first wife to bone cancer and now, I have lost Jamilah and baby,” he said.

Razali has two teenage children from his previous marriage.
Jamilah and the unborn child were buried at the Ayer Hitam cemetery yesterday.
Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ibrahim Arif confirmed police received a report on the incident.

Eyewitnesses are urged to contact the police hotline at 07-2212999.

In 2004, a Nanyang Siang Pau clerk, Chong Fee Cheng, 37, died after she lapsed into a coma following a snatch theft in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru.

In December last year, snatch theft victim Lim See Nya, 58, was run over by a three-tonne truck when she lost her balance and fell onto the road, after a motorcycle pillion rider grabbed her handbag in Bukit Mertajam

.: Numero Cuatrocientos :.

Which translate to No. 400.

Yes. This is my 400th post in this blog.

And that's about all I wanted to say.

Tata :)

Kathlynn's Diary has been brought to you today by the number 400.

.: Excess Baggages :.

Just wanna freakin leave it all behind and move afresh!

.: Biodata :.

Oh. Did I mention that for my ICAEW Graduation they require us to write a biodata 'bout ourselves to be published in a booklet which they will hand-out to all the guests?

I absolutely dunno what to write!

I have a perpetual writer's block. I have verbal constipation. Words don't come easy to me. How can I find a way to make you see, I love you.....
Ok, I'm wavering. If you didn't already know, its a lyrics of a song.

Anyways, back to the point. What was the point again? Oh ya, back to the point of writing a biodata of myself of "what do you want people to think of you professionally".

So yeah, I can't say I things like I like watching Grey's Anatomy. Or I have collections of Winnie the Poohs. Or stuff like that. It's gotta be the serious stuff.

People! Please, please, please HELP ME!

.: LBD :.

I have my ICAEW Graduation function to attend this 28th May.

I am planning on wearing this LBD I bought from M&S during their moving out sales in One-U (from the Old Wing to New Wing) - which was like aeons ago. It set me back by a hundred bucks. Was kinda reluctant to make the purchase at first, but when I peeled the tag to have a peak at the original price and it revealed RM399, I knew I was getting a bargain.

So now, the only thing I need are some accessories.

And oh ya, to go on a really, really (and by really I mean really) strict diet, so that I can actually fit into it *keep fingers cross* :)

Yeah, shall start my diet "tomorrow"! :)

.: My Life Would Suck Without You :.

Song Words by Artist / Band : Kelly Clarkson
Lyrics Title : My Life Would Suck Without You
Available on Album : All I Ever Wanted
Released : January 13, 2009
Music Genre : Pop Rock

Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again

Chorus
Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Either way I found out I’m nothing without you

Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life would suck without you

Bridge
Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah

Chorus
Cause we belong together now yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life would suck without you

Cause we belong together now (together now) yeah
Forever united here somehow yeah
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

.: Picnic Basket :.

Now for the long weekends, JC and I have decide to take a trip down to Ulu Yam waterfalls again. So I am just looking for some good ol' picnic recipes instead of the standard egg or tuna sandwiches.

A nice potato salad sounds good. And a nice chicken garden salad with vinaigrette dressing would complement nicely. Mmmm.....

.: On9 Shopping :.

I have been doing alot of shopping of late. Online shopping to be more precise.

So I do have female hormones afterall Tammie! ---> click here to recap the conversation I had with my cousin sister a couple of years ago.

Well, the one thing I love 'bout online shopping aside from the fact that it's cheaper than the retail shops that you normally go, is that, with just a click of the mouse, I could compare prices between blogshops and get the best bargains around. Sites like Fashion Truth is every girl's best friend for online shopping, a site that allows buyers and sellers to voice out complaints, as well as providing "alternative" (i.e. same item from different blogshop at different prices). From here, they buyer could gauge which blogshop is selling at a reasonable price, which blogshop provides the better customer service, etc

So, since I have discovered the joys of online shopping, I have puchased :

1 LBD = RM 35
1 red cardi = RM 23
2 top/mini dress = RM 35 + RM 31
1 pink babydoll top = RM 25
1 giraffe necklace = RM 15
2 clinchers = RM 30
1 leggings & 1 stockings = RM 43
1 gladiators wedges = RM 45
1 freebra = RM 18

Oh.My.Gosh! That's a total of RM 300! So that was where all my money went to, without me realising it. Sneaky, sneaky......

On a more serious note, I seriously wanna consider setting up a blogshop. JC said he would support me financially! :)

.: Heart Opener :.

Week 3 at Soup Kitchen.

If Week 1 was an eye opener, Week 3 was a real heart opener.

Well, after serving and collecting the empty cups and containers, the 200 people crowd would usually disperse immediately. However, there are a few who would stay behind, sit, mingle, chat and laugh among themselves. We (Aunty Nancy, JC and I) approched this gentleman, and ask if his leg was ok. Two weeks ago, we saw him with a cast on his leg and he was walking with crutches. After a couple of minutes talking and introducing each other - his name is Nathan (pronounced as Ney-tun not Na-dun - I think its really cute!). His spoken English was very good, and the fact that he could speak Cantonese surprises me even more.

He told us about his background. He started of working as an engineer in a machinery company almost 20 years ago in Ipoh (his hometown). And on a fateful day in 1991, he met with a hit and run accident while he was riding a motorbike at night.

He was in coma for about 3 months. About 3 weeks after he awaken from his coma, his father passed away. And six months later, his mother passed away. He was so sad of the misfortunes that has happened to him that he went into depression, and was admitted to Tanjung Rambutan a couple of times. His siblings and other family members shy away from him because of his predicament, which made him even more depressed. He decided to go to KL to run away from all this.

In KL, he came to know and accepted Christ via from the street mission. To earn a living, he has been doing odd jobs here and there. Till now, he still doesn't have a roof over his head, but he was nonetheless thankful for his life so far. He was on medications for his depression, but has long since stopped as he placed his trust in Christ.

His testimony was really a heart opener to the three of us sitting there.

Look at this man. He was at his peak of his life when the series of unfortunate incident happened to him, causing his whole future ahead of him to crumble overnight. He lost his job. Lost both his parents within a short period of time. His other family members shun him instead of giving him the support he so very much needed. He has no one to turn to.... but yet, God is merciful. He has found peace and solitude in the Lord, and he has done very well to bring himself out of the situation he was in.

He said that he has forgive what his family members has done to him in his time of need. But he hasn't returned to Ipoh since he came down to KL.

It was a real edifying testimony from Nathan.

Will make the extra effort to uphold Nathan in prayers.

.: Sometimes It Is Wise To Be Stupid :.

Was feeling abit (ok fine, abit is kind of an understatement - let's just say "quite") down today.

Talk to Angelia on MSN bout how I felt.

"...they say smart people very difficult to find happiness..." she said.

Well, I guess it's a consolation that during my moments of unhappiness, I am just being smart! :)

Honestly, I am just a simple girl trying to lead a simple life. I mean, is it really that complicated to simplify my life?

.: Spider Pig, Spider Pig :.

Guess who's coming to town!

No not Britney Spears!

No no, not Rusells Peter, tho I would love to see him if he does…

Come on, guess again…

No silly, Saddam Hussein is already dead (or so I was told..hmmm..possible conspiracy?)

No no no, not the circus...

Oh come on! Why would I be excited over a purple dinosaur coming to town?

Ok fine! Since you give up already let me reveal to you ….

*drumrolls*

Mr. Krispy Kreme

Ok fine, so you may or may not have known this a long time ago.

But I only realise this yesterday, riding on the monorail on the way to work. Yeah, I take the public transport - that's coz I'm going green (of the green paper in my wallet that is! *wink*). And as I was passing by Berjaya Time Square Mall, I saw this - "Krispy Kreme Opening Soon".

Now, I am not such a big fan of doughnuts and didn't really got sucked into the doughnut craze when Big Apple & J Co was first launched.

But…..when I went to Sydney, I told myself that I must try Krispy Kreme, coz they don't have it in Malaysia, which I did (cost a grenade after conversion - to say a bomb would be totally exaggerating).

And now I am gonna lose that "exclusivity".

Sigh! Oh well! :)

Note :
Note the post subject. See the link?
Spider pig = Homer Simpsons = doughnuts?
Geddit, geddit? No? Nevermind, didn't think you were very smart when you guess Barney earlier anyways! :)
